CPR technique tips

CPR is fairly simple and straightforward. However, with a few tips CPR can become more efficient and effective. Follow these simple tips for better CPR.

  • Remember to push hard and to push fast. CPR is most effective when it is forceful and fast. Fast compressions provide better circulation of blood and oxygen.
  • Remember to allow the chest to recoil fully between the compressions. Ensure that you release the pressure on the chest between compressions to allow the heart to refill.
  • Try to minimize the interruptions between sets of compressions. Without compressions the victim has no blood flow which can be detrimental to the health of vital organs.
